The Order Sons of Italy in America is the largest and longest established
organization in the United States for men and women of Italian heritage.
What began in 1905 as an organization to support the assimilation of Italian
immigrants into American society has become a powerful group of civic minded
individuals of Italian decent. Both nationally and on the local level the
OSIA raises funds for charities, including:
We celebrate our past heros by being
a part of the National World War II Memorial and National Law Enforcement
Officers Memorial fund raising efforts and we support our future heros
by providing educational scholarships to our local youth.
It is important that we preserve
our Italian heritage and promote positive images of Italian Americans to
reduce discrimination against ourselves as well as other minority groups.
The OSIA of Southern West Virginia
is deeply involved in local community efforts other than those addressed
by the national organization.
We would
like to invite you to join the national organization and/or our lodge.
